WHAT IS AN ASBESTOS ROOF COATING?
An asbestos roof coating is a coating that can be applied to an asbestos roof to give it a long-lasting waterproofing solution. As asbestos roofs have a lifespan of between 25 and 40 years, after this time they will start to degrade and can develop problems such as leaks and fibre shed. Applying an asbestos roof coating can provide a fresh look to the roof and will give it a watertight solution while also helping stop asbestos fibre shed. Warranties for asbestos roof coatings can last up to 25 years.
CAN YOU PAINT AN ASBESTOS ROOF?
Painting an asbestos roof is certainly possible, and can provide a number of benefits such as giving the roof a fresh new look, making it watertight, and preventing asbestos fibre shed. However, it is vitally important that the roof is correctly prepared before painting, and that any painting work is done in line with HSE guidelines. This includes using the proper asbestos roof paint and having the work done by an approved installer. Taking these precautions will help to ensure that the painting job is done correctly and safely.
CAN YOU PAINT CLADDING?
Yes, spray painting cladding is a fast, efficient way to protect your building from the elements and extend its lifespan. By using the right paint, you can add up to fifteen years to the life of your cladding. This is more cost-effective than replacing cladding and causes less disruption to your business. We offer a range of cladding spraying and painting services and can tailor our solutions to your needs. Whether you need a full cladding refurbishment or just a touch-up, we can help.
WHAT ARE PROTECTIVE COATINGS?
Protective coatings are a simple and effective way to reduce corrosion. By limiting the exposure of the metal to a corrosive environment, protective coatings can help to prolong the lifespan of metal components and prevent deterioration. In addition to reducing corrosion, protective coatings can also be used to increase a materials aesthetic appeal. By providing a barrier between the metal and the environment, protective coatings can help to keep metals looking like new for longer. As a result, protective coatings are an ideal solution for those looking to reduce corrosion and extend the life of their metal products.
WHAT DOES HVLP STAND FOR?
High-volume, low-pressure
WHAT ARE HVLP SPRAYERS?
HVLP SPRAYERS operate using a lightweight air turbine to supply the air to atomise the paint. HVLP Sprayers are much more portable than their traditional counterparts because of this design feature. With HVLP Spray Guns, the air is supplied at a much lower pressure than with conventional air-spray guns. This reduced pressure means that the amount of overspray is also reduced as it is propelled at a much lower speed. This can save both time and money.
WHAT DOES AIRLESS SPRAY PAINTING MEAN?
AIRLESS SPRAY PAINTING is a technique that uses a high-pressure pump to force paint through a small hole in the nozzle of the sprayer. This technique results in an even and smooth finish that is resistant to wear and tear and corrosion. Airless spraying is often used for painting exteriors, as it can reach tight corners and angles that would be difficult to paint with a brush or roller. In addition, airless spraying allows for a thicker coat of paint to be applied in a shorter amount of time. As a result, airless spraying is an efficient and effective way to achieve a professional-looking paint job.
CAN YOU SPRAY PAINT IN COLD WEATHER?
SPRAY PAINT IN COLD WEATHER can be difficult. Paint will not stick to frosty surfaces, and even if it does, it may not cure properly. Other problems faced with painting in cold weather, include:

• Paint becomes thicker and more difficult to apply (in extreme cold, it can even freeze!)
• The spray gun may get clogged easily
• Runs and drips are common
• Colour uniformity can be poor
• Damp can seep into uncured paint – this can cause stains and rust.

We can advise you if the paint we are using for your project is suitable for particular temperatures.

WHAT IS CUT EDGE CORROSION?
CUT EDGE CORROSION is a phenomenon that affects cladding sheets. When these sheets are cut to size during the manufacturing process, the edges aren’t re-coated, leaving them exposed. Over time, the edges of the cladding sheets are likely to rust. This can lead to leaks and eventually cause the cladding panels to need replacing. Cut edge corrosion is most likely to occur in areas where there is high humidity or where the cladding sheets are regularly exposed to water. In order to prevent this problem, it is important to make sure that the edges of the cladding sheets are properly sealed and protected from the elements.
WHAT IS CUT EDGE PROTECTION?
CUT EDGE PROTECTION is important to the longevity of any structure – it helps to prevent corrosion and prolong the lifespan of the panels. Cut edge protection includes: surface preparation and high pressure wash down; removal of any loose paint and corrosion by hand grinding; application of gun-applied sealant to fill any gaps; re-spray cladding. PIW Painting can offer guarantees against peeling, blistering and cracking for up to 20 years. So if you’re looking for a way to extend the life of your investment, CUT EDGE PROTECTION is the answer. WHAT IS CORROSION CONTROL?
Corrosion control is the removal of any corrosion or rust from a metal surface in order to prepare it for a protective coating. This process is important because corrosion is the first sign of metal surface breakdown. Corrosion weakens the metal structure and, if left untreated, can lead to costly replacement. Corrosion control ensures that the metal surface is clean and non-rusted before applying a protective coating, which prevents the corrosion from returning.
WHAT ARE CORROSION CONTROL METHODS?
CORROSION CONTROL METHODS are processes that are used to remove corrosion and rust and stop them from spreading. The most common CORROSION CONTROL METHOD is to remove the corrosion and apply some kind of a protective coating to the treated area. This will usually contain ‘anti-corrosive’ properties, to stop the corrosion from returning. However, it is also important to make sure that the area around the treated area is also protected from corrosion, as this can often be the source of the problem. There are many different CORROSION CONTROL METHODS available, and it is important to choose the one that is best suited to the particular problem. In some cases, it may be necessary to use more than one CORROSION CONTROL METHOD in order to achieve the desired result.
WHAT CAN PAINT SPRAYING BE USED FOR?
Paint spraying is a popular painting method that can be used for many different applications. Paint spraying provides a more uniform application than the traditional brush and roller method, and it is also much faster. As a result, paint spraying is often used for large projects where speed and efficiency are important. In addition, paint spraying can also be used to create special effects, such as a textured finish or a distressed look. As a result, paint spraying is a versatile painting method that can be used for many different purposes: Internal walls and ceilings, external masonry, cladding, roofs, windows, metal work and much more.
IS PAINT SPRAYING BETTER THAN ROLLING?
When you need to paint a room or an entire house, there are two main methods you can use – paint spraying or rolling. While both have their benefits, paint spraying is generally the better option for a number of reasons. First of all, it is much faster than rolling. Once you get the hang of it, you can cover a large surface area in a very short amount of time. This is especially helpful if you have a tight deadline to work with. In addition, paint spraying gives you a more uniform and even finish. This is because the paint is evenly distributed over the surface, resulting in fewer brush strokes and streaks. Finally, by paint spraying you can achieve a ‘factory finish’, which is not possible with a roller. This means that your paint job will look professional and polished – something that is sure to impress your friends and family.
WHAT IS INDUSTRIAL SPRAY PAINTING?
Industrial spray painting is the process of painting industrial buildings and machinery using spray application rather than the more traditional brush and roller application. This method is much more efficient and effective, as it allows for the paint to be applied quickly and evenly with little to no wastage. In addition, industrial spray painting offers a better finish overall, as well as the ability to apply the correct paint thickness in a single coat. As a result, this type of painting is ideal for any business or factory that needs to keep their equipment or premises looking good as new.

WHAT IS A ROOF COATING?
Roof coatings are an essential roof repair and maintenance product, applied to industrial roofs in order to prolong their lifespan. They act as a barrier, protecting the roof from weathering damage caused by exposure to the elements. Common problems that roof coatings help to prevent include cracked sheets, build-up of mold, and vegetation, roof leaks, and corrosion. By applying a roof coating early enough, you can avoid these problems and extend the life of your roof significantly. Roof coatings are a cost-effective way to protect your investment, and should be part of any regular roof maintenance schedule.
DOES A ROOF COATING STOP LEAKS?
A roof coating is a seamless waterproof membrane that can be applied to an existing roof in order to stop leaks. It effectively seals up holes, cracks, and poor fixings in order to create a watertight system. This is an important consideration for any home or business owner, as leaks can cause extensive damage to a building over time. A roof coating provides peace of mind by ensuring that your roof will be protected from the elements and will not succumb to leaks. When applied by a professional, a roof coating can last for many years and will provide lasting protection for your investment.
